• Issue 3

Catholic Schools Week is a time to honor and celebrate Catholic education through themed days, Mass and various activities for faculty and students. Below is a recap of this year’s week of events.

1. Faculty/Staff Appreciation - Twin Day
The Lancer Family kicked off Catholic Schools Week with an assembly and recognition of faculty and staff members. Lancer employees were treated to a coffee bar before school and a catered Red Robin lunch. They were recognized by ASB officers and students through notes of gratitude and words of affirmation. Students and staff were also encouraged to dress up for the Twin Day theme, getting creative with matching a friend in the building.

2. Student Appreciation Day - Flannel/Pajama Day
Kennedy Catholic students are truly something special, contributing to the unique fabric of our school community. Students were invited to wear their coziest pajamas to school and enjoy a free slice of pizza during lunch. Every day, we are grateful for the energy Lancer students bring to the halls.

3. Family & Parent Appreciation Day - Sunday’s Best Dress
Students and staff were encouraged to express appreciation for families and parents on Wednesday. The Lancer Family came together for Mass in the morning, with music performed by the orchestra and choir. In the afternoon, the Advancement team hand delivered cookies to our family of partner schools to share in the spirit of Catholic Schools Week.

4. Community Appreciation Day - Role Model Day
To share gratitude for the community, Leadership students placed primroses on our neighbors’ front doorsteps – their care for our school does not go unnoticed. In addition, students and staff dressed as their role models for the day, with many students sharing they look up to Lancer teachers the most.

5. School Appreciation Day - Lancer Spirit Day
To celebrate school pride, students came decked out in their class colors. We ended Catholic Schools Week with an all school assembly. Students participated in class competitions, acknowledged winter sports teams and watched the cheer team perform. Go Lancers!

Lancer students learn, serve, lead and succeed in and out of our halls, carrying the teachings of the Catholic church with them wherever they may go. While Catholic Schools Week has ended, we are grateful for Catholic education every day.
