Another successful Search retreat is complete! Students experienced faith and community in new ways during this weekend away. Lancer senior, Penny N., mentioned, “Attending Search guided me through many struggles, helping me prioritize love over all. Knowing I have so many people who support me will carry me on past my time at Kennedy Catholic.” Never stop Searching.

Every year, Señora Moffat’s Spanish 3 classes create handmade piñatas – expressing creativity and culture. This tradition is a part of the “posada” celebration, in which people commemorate Mary and Joseph’s search for a place for Jesus to be born. Each piñata has a special look and feel and is then filled with candy for a future celebration.

Ms. Farrell’s Christian Lifestyles classes completed the egg baby project, in which they learn some of the responsibilities that go along with parenting. This project has been completed by many Lancer students and is often recounted by alumni as a meaningful experience.

Thank you to the extremely talented University of Portland Wind Symphony for visiting Kennedy Catholic! Please enjoy a piece they played for our band and choir students.

Congratulations to the following seniors who have committed to play football in college!

Sav'ell Smalls – University of Washington
Justin Baker – Cal Berkeley
Zaire Lozolo – Central Washington University
Zane Thornton – Washington State University
Lei-Ben Tivoli Fesili – Central Washington University

These students were honored at an all school assembly for receiving a 4.0 unweighted GPA during fall semester – congratulations! We are extremely proud of these hard-working individuals, devoted to their studies at Kennedy Catholic and beyond.

On Saturday, January 25 many Lancer fans joined us for the annual Crab Feed. This event is not one to miss, complete with lots of crab, costumes and extravagant table decorations. Hosted by the Booster Club, the funds for this event directly benefits students-athletes and athletics programs at Kennedy Catholic. See you next year!

President Mike Prato welcomed 6 new international students from Japan, China and Vietnam in January. They got a taste of Tacoma during a downtown tour of the Museum of Glass and the LeMay-America's Car Museum.

Our dear Ms. McKamey was honored at the most recent Fulcrum Foundation event. Please enjoy this tribute to her and all the hard work she puts in with the local area elementary band programs.
