Events + Resources
There are a multitude of helpful resources available on the work of Equity and Inclusion. The best way to begin searching is to Google “DEI Resources,” ask your parish priest, or visit your local library online. Below we share with you a list of materials cultivated from our Faculty and Staff that they found helpful in their own educational journey, as well as some resources from Catholic sources. The materials are not part of our curriculum and in no way are intended to be an exhaustive list. They are merely recommendations our Team thought might be helpful.
If you have a resource that has been beneficial to you, please email us directly.
Stay tuned for events during the 2023-24 school year!
It is the mission of Kennedy Catholic High School to graduate leaders following Christ in a school community that is accessible, diverse, and committed to pursuing the fullest potential of every student.
To fulfill this mission, we strive to create events and spaces where our community can interact, develop, and grow. In recent years, students have established several cultural affinity groups with the intent of creating safe spaces for dialogue centered around identity and sense of belonging. To support these student-driven initiatives, Kennedy Catholic is hosting a families of color gathering to extend this mission beyond our school walls.
The purpose of Cultivate is simply the true definition of the word. We hope our families and students can cultivate a new community where we are many cultures, but one school family. We want our students to be both proud of their uniqueness, as well as their shared Lancer identity.
Kennedy Catholic High School prides itself in being the most diverse Catholic high school serving students in the Seattle area. To help build community among our families of color, join us the evening of Saturday, January 21 for Cultivate.
Your family will have the opportunity to:
- Engage with other families of color that make up our school community
- Preview cultural performances led by current students
- Meet with faculty and staff members dedicated to supporting students of color
Attire is casual, but we encourage cultural dress to showcase the diverse make-up of the Lancer Family!
