KOOCS (Kids Offering Others Care and Support)
KOOCS is currently postponed due to COVID-19. Cook breakfast and visit with the homeless on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at Union Gospel Mission's Hope Place in South Seattle. Students leave Kennedy Catholic at 7:45am and return at noon. Mentors: Ms. Cacabelos and retired Kennedy Catholic faculty and alum Mr. Vandenberg.
Students can serve at school liturgies as lectors, altar servers, and Eucharistic Ministers (training provided). Confirmed Catholics are encouraged to be Eucharistic Ministers.
Join the Praise Band on Monday's after school to serve with a small group of dedicated musicians and singers who provide contemporary Christian praise and worship music for various liturgies and prayer services throughout the year. Any student may audition to play or sing with this group. Mentor: Mr. Ruiter
Relay for Life
A 24-hour walk-a-long fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer, in addition to celebrating the lives of those who have battled cancer and remembering loved ones lost to the disease. Mentor: Mr. Caldwell
Students for Life Club
Through education, fundraising, political action, and a commitment to social justice, the Students for Life Club encourages members of the world community to respect and preserve human life. This ministry is open to all students who are interested in promoting awareness and advocacy around issues that affect human life such as abortion, the death penalty, euthanasia, violence and war. Mentor: Mr. Barbarossa
St. Vincent de Paul Society
One of three recognized high school chapters in Washington State, this ministry sponsors fundraisers, food and toy drives, and other initiatives to directly benefit parishes in the South Seattle community and provides scholarships for students in Cuernavaca, Mexico. This ministry works closely with other groups to coordinate efforts on behalf of human rights issues. The group meets on Thursdays after school. Mentors: Mr. Davidson
