Gina MartinGirls Varsity Cross Country Coach
Gina Martin graduated from Kennedy Catholic in 1981. In 1989, Gina received her BS in mathematics from Gonzaga University, then worked as a researcher for several years, but always felt a pull to return to the teaching profession. In 2008, changed careers and began teaching at Kennedy Catholic. Her previous coaching experience, all as a Lancer, includes serving as Assistant Cross Country Coach (2015), Assistant Track Coach (2016), and assisted with both sports in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Gina fell in love with running at 13. She had an excellent coach who knew that first, kids just want to have fun. When she was competing at Kennedy Catholic, the cross country team was dedicated to working hard resulting in multiple league titles, one District 3 title, and qualifying for State every year. The team expected greatness and achieved it so many times out on the race course but also learned that greatness isn’t just about winning a cross country race. As a coach, this is the same vision she has for our cross country program – have fun, work hard, and achieve greatness on and off the course.
