Elementary Summer Band and Percussion Camp
Join Mr. Ruiter and other Kennedy Catholic faculty and student leaders this summer for five days of fun while sharpening your skills! Whether your goal is to audition for Honor Band, keep your skills fresh over the summer, or just be ready for School Band, we are here to help you achieve success! Students with at least one year of prior playing experience are invited to participate. Highlights include:
•Developing and strengthening musical skills playing: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bells, or snare drums
•Making music with friends and making new friends
•Having a competitive edge on the School Band/Honor Band next school year
•Keeping the dust off your instruments – after all, we love them!
•Observe the Kennedy Catholic Lancer Marching Band in action!
Please note that musicians are responsible for bringing their own instruments. If you have questions, please email Mr. Ruiter.
High School Summer Marching Band and Color Guard
Summer Marching Band & Color Guard are a fun and active way for band and color guard students, including incoming freshmen, to connect with Kennedy Catholic and the Lancer Band family! Students will have the opportunity to perform in parades throughout the Western Washington region, including the Burien 4th of July Parade, the Kent Cornucopia Days Parade, the West Seattle Parade, the Chinatown Parade, the Summer Band Jams Event, and the Seafair Torchlight Parade.
Students interested in taking Summer Band for credit can select that option during registration.
Please make sure to provide an electronic or hard copy of an up-to-date physical or confirm that Mrs. MacLaren in the Athletic Office has a valid one on file from the 2026-2027 school year. You may email sportsphysicals@kennedyhs.org to confirm your student's physical will not expire during the season.
Physicals are valid for two years from the date of the exam. We encourage freshmen to start high school with a brand new physical.
The Pre-Participation History, Physical Examination, and Medical Eligibility forms may be downloaded from the links section of Arbiter and also from the Athletics Registration page on the Kennedy Catholic website, Pre-Participation History and Sports Physical forms. Please complete all five pages. Physicals may be turned in to the Athletic Office (108) during school hours; mailed to Kennedy Catholic Athletics, 140 S. 140th St, Burien, WA 98168-3496; or scanned into a PDF and emailed to sportsphysicals@kennedyhs.org.
***Register before June 8 for an early registration discount! Registrations received after June 8 will incur an additional $50 fee.
