How do I apply to Kennedy Catholic High School?

  1. Access our online Admissions Parent Portal to complete the Kennedy Catholic Online Admissions Application ($35 fee).
  2. Register to take the High School Placement Test ($40 fee) through the Parent Portal. This test is for incoming Freshmen only.
  3. Submit School Report/Transcripts and Teacher Evaluation Forms to your current school. The school will complete the forms and return them to the Kennedy Catholic Admissions Team.

The deadline for the 2020-2021 school year is January 8, 2020.

What is the tuition?

Tuition for the 2019-2020 school year is $15,756. Tuition for the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Program for the 2019-2020 school year is $18,132.

Does Kennedy Catholic offer Tuition Assistance?

Kennedy Catholic High School is committed to making tuition affordable for students from all economic backgrounds through need-based tuition assistance grants. During the 2018-2019 admissions season, Kennedy Catholic High School awarded need-based aid to 44% of the new student population. Tuition assistance awards are reviewed annually. It is our goal to offer continuing support as long as financial circumstances require.

Does Kennedy Catholic offer scholarships?

Our scholarship program for incoming freshmen is designed to honor students who demonstrate the qualities of a Kennedy Catholic High School student; leading the way in learning, faith and leadership. Kennedy Catholic offers merit-based scholarships that do not require any demonstrated financial need.

Transfer students are reviewed on a case by case basis. Transfer applicants must submit the Kennedy Catholic online application, school report, transcripts, and teacher recommendations.

What is the process for making admissions decisions?

Each application is reviewed by the Kennedy Catholic Admissions Committee. The committee reviews grades, High School Placement Test scores, teacher recommendations, and extracurricular involvement. Kennedy Catholic seeks diversity in learning style, gender, ethnicity and geography.

As a student, can I visit for the day?

Students who are thinking about applying to Kennedy Catholic are invited to be our guest and shadow one of our student ambassadors. They will be able to experience a typical high school day and explore our school from the inside out. Lunch is provided.

As a parent, how can I learn more about Kennedy Catholic?

We strongly encourage parents and students to come to our fall Open House on Wednesday, October 30. The Open House is an opportunity for prospective families to tour the campus, meet faculty and staff, learn about our academic programs, and hear more about athletics, arts, and extra-curricular activities.

Currently there 851 students are enrolled in grades 9-12.

How is diversity celebrated at Kennedy Catholic?

Inclusiveness is a priority at Kennedy Catholic. Nearly 50% of Kennedy Catholic students are ethnically diverse.

Do students have to be Catholic to attend?

Kennedy Catholic welcomes and affirms students of all faith traditions, in fact over 33% of our students are not Catholic.

What is a typical day like for students?

Most school days begin at 8:00am and end at 2:45pm, however on late start days, class begins at 9:10am. Classes are based on a modified block schedule, ranging anywhere between 45 to 70 minutes long, with 5 minute passing periods and a 25 minute lunch. Clubs meet generally during lunch and athletics take place after school.

How many clubs/activities and sports does Kennedy Catholic offer?

There are over 40 extracurricular clubs and activities and 25 athletic teams.

Does Kennedy Catholic provide transportation to and from school?

Kennedy Catholic students have the option of using our private bus transportation. We offer 5 different routes covering about 300 miles. If interested, we can also help set up car pools with other families.

What is the Aquinas Honors Program?

The Aquinas Honors Program is an umbrella name over courses that offer a rigorous curriculum, challenging academically gifted students to focus on preparation for the demands of the most selective colleges in the country. The pace is more rapid than our standard academic program and allows students the potential to earn a full year of college credits before graduating from high school.

How do parents become involved?

At Kennedy Catholic there is a place for every parent to become involved. Opportunities include Parents Club, Booster Club, BSHARP and the KATCH Auction. Many of the activities and events for students could not happen without our truly dedicated parent community.

How do Kennedy Catholic students give back to the community?

Community service is an essential component of an education at Kennedy Catholic. One of the ways we teach Gospel values is by being of service to the wider community. Kennedy Catholic High School students participate in school-wide projects, mission work, and extracurricular service. All students who graduate from Kennedy Catholic have to complete the Integrated Service Learning Experience. Students in the 2016-2017 school year performed over 17,000 hours of community service.
