Why Study at Kennedy Catholic

At Kennedy Catholic High School, international students develop deep friendships that last a lifetime. Kennedy Catholic is fun, safe and academically challenging. Each academic year, the International Program at Kennedy Catholic provides international students with the opportunity to become part of the Lancer family. Some of these students choose to reside in our campus residence hall and some prefer to live with host families. Our entire student body benefits from the gift of cultural diversity and exchange within our own community.

Here are four key ways that international students benefit from a Kennedy Catholic education:

English Language Training
A special and unique EFL curriculum has been created for international students who need help in English language skills (speaking, reading, writing, and listening) on levels appropriate to their abilities and needs. International students are placed into one of three areas of course study based on the Kennedy Catholic International Assessment. Learning English through full exposure offers many benefits to the traditional classroom and textbook approach that students would get in their home country.

Pre-college Navigation
Applying to college in the United States can be a long and complicated process; with entrance exams, schools and majors to explore and essays to write. This process can be hard to navigate especially for international students who may not be familiar with the jargon. Students applying to colleges with credentials from a US high school may find the process less intimidating or complicated. Using a leading edge web-based technology called NAVIANCE, our counseling staff works with students to help identify their college career blueprint.

College Readiness
The small class sizes at Kennedy Catholic allow faculty to focus on the specific needs of every student and to provide more one-on-one attention. Our rigorous academic program challenges students with advanced subject matters, in-depth materials and a solid foundation of course work. Students are prepared for the academic demands of the most selective colleges in the nation and are exposed to the American style of teaching. Our graduates attend elite colleges and universities nationally and internationally.

Social Experiences
Attending high school at Kennedy Catholic can help prepare students to succeed socially. We encourage our students to participate in a wide range of co-curricular clubs and/or athletic activities. These experiences help strengthen the high school experience and build self-confidence. There is something for everyone.
