About Mrs. Fox:

Mrs. Fox grew up in Poway, California.  She had some amazing science teachers during her years at Poway High (Go Titans!).  Mr. Torretto, Ms. Behrhorst, Mr. Minimede, you all touched her life in ways that she cannot express!  Thank you for sharing your love of science with Mrs. Fox.  She hopes to make them proud with her teaching.  After high school, she earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology from University of California, Riverside.  It was a small school (in terms of UC) and she enjoyed smaller classes and more personal attention from professors.  Mrs. Fox started out as a BioMed major.  However, she led all the study groups and soon found her passion was explaining the science to others.  All of her friends went on to become doctors and pharmacists.  Mrs. Fox took the path that was right for her - TEACHING!

Mrs. Fox has been certified to teach in 3 states: California, Colorado and Washington.  That is three rounds of professional tests passed on the first try!  Go Fox!  Over the ten years of her career, she has taught many levels of science.  Mostly, she taught middle school life science.  This experience is helpful in the high school setting.

This is Mrs. Fox's third year at Kennedy.   Last year, she had a BLAST!    Mrs. Fox attended the Science Education Partnership 13 day training at Fred Hutch.  She got to work at a lab in the Genome Sciences Department at UW.  Ask her about yeast evolution, she can give you an earful.

This year, she plans to make her teaching even better.  Besides implementing her training in molecular techniques with her Biology classes, Mrs. Fox is also teaching her second year of Anatomy and Physiology class.  This elective is designed for college bound students interested in science careers.

Mrs. Fox would like to welcome you to her world!  It's going to be a FANTASTIC year!  I can't wait to begin.
