Mrs. Nackos, how can I get my grade up in your class?
You can turn in all your work, every day, look for vocab sightings, earn participation points by being your best student in class.
We are working on our speech unit. So far we have read speeches from great men in our history who worked tirelessly for justice and liberty and equality.
Now, ask yourself, what are the injustices I face today? How can they be changed? You will write a 90 second speech that adresses one injustice you care about.
May 12: Speech Outline Due
May 16: Rough Draft Due to turnitin.com and a paper copy due in class
May 18: Final Draft Due to turnitin.com
May 23: Give fully memorized speech in front of class
June 2: Freshmen Speech competition in LPP. Top 10 winners from each section will give their fully memorized speech in front of the entire Freshman Class. Top three student speakers receive prizes. Good luck!
English 11-- American Literature
Finish Catcher in the Rye by May 12.
Start The Things They Carried May 16. Finisn by June 8.
If you have a 93% in English 11 by June 8th, you are excused from taking the Final Exam on June 14th. Get your work in daily, complete every ATW, participate in Socratice Seminars. |
